Karlsson's Hot Play Continues Into Sunday
Justin's Putter Turns Cold in Loss to Swede
Instant analysis: Karlsson, a winner on the European PGA Tour last week, rode the wave of momentum created by his back-nine six-under-par 30 in Saturday afternoon's Fourball match. Had a pair of kick-in birdies to jump-start the victory.
Key moments: Leonard, who putted like a cold-blooded assassin in his three earlier matches, had two key birdie misses early in the match that cost him two holes. Those two five-footers could have made a difference, but Karlsson was a little too much to handle.
Player report card
Leonard: (2-1-1) B. Was a key reason the United States established its lead on the first day, scoring two valuable points. His only loss was to Karlsson, where he did not win a hole.
Karlsson: (1-1-2) B+. Was shaky in his opening-match loss, pairing with Harrington, but produced some of the most solid golf on the European side after the opening loss.
